With a proven record of accomplishment since its inception in 2006, The Manufacturing Institute’s Women MAKE America Initiative will build on its success and go beyond just recognizing and connecting women to growing retention practices and focusing on recruitment as an industry.
We’ll take a three-pronged approach:
- Create a nationwide movement with more than 1,000 female mentors connecting to emerging leaders and students. Learn more about THE POWER OF FEMALE MENTORS
- Drive the opportunity for the industry to break the glass and collaborate on strategies to attract and retain women in their company.
- Broaden the pipeline by supporting women throughout their education.
The Power of Female Mentors
Over the next five years, The Manufacturing Institute’s Women MAKE America Mentoring Program will create a nationwide movement designed to change perceptions by training more than 1,000 female mentors and helping them connect to younger women in the industry and beyond by engaging with women in four-year colleges and universities, community colleges, high schools and middle schools. The Women MAKE America Mentoring Program acts on decades of research and more than a decade of impact to help close the gender gap in manufacturing.
Together, we have the potential to add half a million women to the manufacturing industry by 2030.
