Sam Lee

National Director, Military & Veteran Initiatives

Sam Lee is the National Director of Military and Veteran Initiatives for The Manufacturing Institute, the nonprofit affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). In his role, Sam leads and provides overall direction for Heroes MAKE America – the Institute’s initiative to connect the military community with the manufacturing industry to build a pipeline of military-trained and industry-certified candidates.

He is an Air Force veteran and served at both McGuire Air Force base in New Jersey as well as at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado.  After exiting the military in 2006, he joined Sprint as an Analyst and quickly moved up the ranks to Engineer. Most recently, prior to joining the Manufacturing Institute, he was the Training Manager at a New Horizons Computer Learning Center where he lead the training cadre and oversaw the training program of over 200 students transitioning into a new career in Information Technology.

Sam is originally from New York City and has been a lifelong Mets fan. He currently resides in Jacksonville, FL. He was a founding board member of the Jacksonville Veteran Chamber of Commerce and also sits on the advisory board of Veterans Ascend.
