Pooja Tripathi

Pooja Tripathi is a native San Antonian and has worked in economic and workforce development for Bexar County since 2011.

While there, she started the County’s first high school internship program and the state’s first industry-led Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) chapter to help develop short-, mid-, and long-term strategies to fill the industry’s skilled talent pipeline.

She spearheaded several Texas FAME initiatives including expanding a 2-year DOL-registered apprenticeship/ Associate’s degree program; launching and managing a new, accelerated training program called TX FAST (Texas FAME Accelerated Skills Training); second chance hiring initiatives; and working with Bexar County Facilities Management to build Texas FAME a new, $13 million training center. As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, she also launched the Bexar County Strong Workforce Program, implemented to assist County residents, whose employment status was adversely impacted by the pandemic, connect to training and job opportunities.

She received her BBA in Management with a Minor in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005, as well as her MBA in International Business and MS in Finance from Florida International University in 2009.

Pooja also helped start a local volunteer-run nonprofit 10 years ago called Awaaz San Antonio that assists South Asians affected by domestic violence. She continues to volunteer with them.
