What is psychological safety?
Psychological safety is the belief that you can take risks, put forward ideas, ask questions, and challenge the status quo without facing ridicule or retaliation (Dr. Michele Nealon, Psy.D. President, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology).
What can attendees expect to learn?
This session will feature an expert in the field of psychology and mental health who will:
- Review the benefits of psychological safety
- Illustrate how to name and model psychological safety as a priority
- Guide attendees through the process of how organizations can cultivate psychological safety
- Demonstrate how to welcome diverse contributions, encourage learning, and invite challenges & critiques
About Women Connect
The Manufacturing Institute, the education and workforce partner of the NAM, drives programs and research to promote modern manufacturing and jumpstart new approaches to growing manufacturing talent. The mission of the Women MAKE America initiative is to showcase existing female talent in the industry, as well as best practices for companies to close the skills gap by attracting, retaining, and advancing women in manufacturing.
