9:30 am – 10:00 am | Identity Exercise
Participate, and learn, an effective way to develop authentic connections in the workplace with the Identity Icebreaker. The Identity Exercise allows for conversations about similarities, differences, and identity combinations they have not considered before, as well as a real-time examples of the impact bias and culture can have on individuals.
10:00 am – 11:00 am | ERGs
Learn how to design, build and support employee resource groups. Hear success stories from the field, as well as how to utilize ERGs as a business imperative.

The U.S. government has committed to admitting up to 125,000 refugees this year who have been displaced by major refugee crises. This is a huge opportunity for American manufacturers to help integrate refugees into the U.S. economy. Hear from panelists who have gone through the hiring and training of refugees who can provide best practices, as well as the positive impact on organizations both short and long term.

Neurodiversity is an often-overlooked element of diversity that can provide a new dimension of thought to teams, particularly those focused on innovation and generating new ideas. Hear from panelists who will describe the superpowers neurodiverse individuals can bring to roles and the surprisingly simple and straightforward accommodations that can be made in the workplace to enable neurodiverse individuals to thrive.

Learn about the FAME program and how the best skilled technicians are trained through the AMT program. Attendees will also hear from a graduate of the program who is currently a systems engineer at Robert Bosch. Additionally, hear from our partner, Constellium, on how the FAME model provides not only skilled technicians to meet their needs, but how they are using the program to build future leaders from all backgrounds.

Women represent a sizable talent pool that manufacturers cannot ignore, especially as the sector becomes more advanced. Learn best practices to recruit, retain and promote women, with a goal of adding 500,000+ more women to the industry by 2030.

Cancellation Policy:
Reservations can be canceled up to 48 hours prior to arrival without penalty. If you cancel within 48 hours of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to one night’s room revenue will be charged.

Current CDC and local health guidelines will be followed and enforced, and the MI reserves the right to update health measures and attendance policies based on evolving health threats and guidance from Federal health agencies and local authorities. While we intend for the event to go forward as planned, the event may be impacted by future guidance from Federal and local authorities and protocols will be adjusted as warranted.

Vaccination Recommended
Full vaccination is recommended to attend the 2022 Diversity & Inclusion Summit, although proof of vaccination will not be required. All MI | NAM staff onsite are fully vaccinated.
Before Leaving Home
- Follow relevant guidance provided by the CDC (Center for Diseases Control).
- Adhere to government issued travel restrictions and guidance issued by the region you will be traveling to and the region you are traveling from.
- Stay at home if you feel sick and or if anyone in your household is sick.
On-site During the Event
- Adhere to guidance from local health authorities as implemented and shared by facility hosts.
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based sanitizer.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing.
- Respect the personal space of others.
- If you experience any cold or flu-like symptoms, please DO NOT attend sessions. Please let the MI team know.
Post-event
- Agree to notify the MI team at [email protected] if you test positive for COVID-19 up to 5 days after returning home for contact tracing purposes.
A note on COVID-19:
Due to venue capacity, we have an attendance cap to ensure the safety and social distancing of our guests and staff.
We ask that a maximum of two representatives from each company attend in person, and welcome additional attendees from each company to attend the virtual experience held on December 16.
