In March 2013, Melanie Stover was named Program Manager at The Manufacturing Institute. The Institute is the think tank and solutions affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers. In this role, she leads the STEP Ahead initiative to examine and promote the role of women in manufacturing and the Manufacturers Endorsed Education Alliance to corroborate outstanding national manufacturing certification programs. She also collaborates on innovative projects to strategically address the skills gap challenges facing the manufacturing workforce.
Prior to joining the Institute, Melanie served as the Partnerships Coordinator in the Workforce Development Division of ACT. As an ACT fellow to the Institute, she worked on initiatives to transition military veterans into the manufacturing workforce, education customized to manufacturing careers and manufacturing skills certification programs. Melanie also interned at the Department of Labor for the Business Relations Group, supporting a national summit to address the shortage of qualified workers in the nursing sector and creating a national database of high demand industries.
Melanie is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
