Kevin Scott is the Senior Director, Youth Engagement and Education at the Manufacturing Institute, the social impact affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). In this role, Kevin raises awareness on careers in manufacturing for educators, students, and other stakeholders to match career needs with future opportunities. Kevin oversees the Manufacturing Institute’s youth outreach efforts, including Manufacturing Day, Dream It Do It, and Manufacturing Ambassadors.

 

Before coming to the Manufacturing Institute, Kevin was the Director of Member Engagement at ASCD, an education nonprofit focused on developing leaders in education. While at ASCD, Kevin directed ASCD’s Emerging Leaders program, Student Chapters program, and ASCD’s state affiliates. Prior to ASCD, he also served the National School Boards Association in their Council of Urban Boards of Education, focusing on America’s large school districts. Kevin also taught students middle school history in Fairfax County, Virginia, and continues his desire to help the next generation of teachers as an Adjunct Professor at American University in Washington, DC.

 

Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University, and master’s degrees in Education (M.Ed.) and Instructional Technology from Marymount University and Virginia Tech, respectively. He lives in the DC area with his wife and two boys and can often be found at one of the local ice rinks coaching or playing hockey in his free time.
