The Manufacturing Institute and the Community College Transformative Change Initiative, led by Office of Community College Research and Leadership at the University of Illinois (OCCRL) and The Collaboratory join forces for a special two-part webinar series on employer engagement.  This is the first webinar in the series.

Manufacturers need to own the skills gap issue. That means stepping up to lead innovative partnerships in their communities and examining outdated HR practices in their own companies. But how and when do manufacturers want to be engaged? What are some proven-effective strategies for employer engagement? Has anyone successfully addressed pushback to change in the marketplace?

Part One of the webinar series will provide different perspectives from manufacturers, educators, and community development professionals on how to approach and engage employers on the subjects of skills development, industry certification and employment practices.

This webinar series targets the manufacturing-related TAACCCT grant recipients, and also welcomes The Manufacturing Institute’s ongoing Community of Learners network. Participants include manufacturers, business associations, educators, workforce/ economic development professionals and other community partners.
