This webinar will be an interactive panel discussion of the Right Skills Now program, an accelerated model designed to meet employer demand and address the skills gap.  This is a “how to” session focused on replicating the successful fast-track model launched last year in Minnesota. In 24 weeks students complete a robust curriculum and a paid internship, earning a National Career Readiness Certificate and four NIMS credentials.

We are planning this to be a fast-paced webinar with an opportunity to hear first-hand from the team that brought Right Skills Now to life. How does the model work at the ground level? What makes it “Right Skills Now,” and how can I get it started in my community? How do embedded industry certifications set it apart from other accelerated models?

Presenters:

  • Jennifer McNelly, President, The Manufacturing Institute
  • Darlene Miller, President and CEO, Permac Industries and President’s Jobs Council
  • Gary Nolan, ACT
  • Jim Wall, Executive Director, National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS)
  • Doug Laven, South Central Community and Technical College
  • Debra Kerrigan, Dunwoody College of Technology
