Brief Description of Institution:
Fort Scott Community College serves the citizens of Bourbon County and the surrounding eastern Kansas areas with an emphasis on lifelong learning and continued day-to-day use of campus facilities, personal enrichment, marketable technical skills and a sound academic program. FSCC takes pride in being the oldest continuous community college in the state of Kansas, founded in 1919. At Fort Scott Community College, our students are part of our large family. The college's employees and board members strive to help students achieve their educational goals while maintaining Fort Scott's famous small town atmosphere.

The college has approximately 3,000 full-time and part-time students on its main campus and outreach centers in Bourbon, Crawford, Linn and Miami counties. The college currently offers 29 associate degree program and 17 certificate programs. Fort Scott Community College is fully accredited by the Kansas State Board of Regents and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). FSCC is currently involved in the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP), an accreditation process with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
