WASHINGTON, -  Today, the Get Skills to Work initiative was featured on the Cooper Standard truck at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series “Careers for Veterans 200” race. The race at Michigan International Speedway was dedicated to supporting military veterans returning back to civilian jobs.

The event was presented by The Cooper Standard Foundation and Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation and provided an opportunity to communicate with a large audience the benefits of hiring veterans.

Earlier this month, the Cooper Standard Foundation and The Manufacturing Institute announced a partnership in support of veterans to obtain manufacturing jobs in Michigan. The Cooper Standard Foundation supports veteran training programs that will assist veterans to prepare for manufacturing careers at community colleges across Michigan. Macomb Community College is the first college partner, with additional colleges across Michigan to be included over time.
