-  Today, The Manufacturing Institute announced it will receive $199,973 grant from Toyota USA Foundation over two years for its Dream It. Do It. program that focuses on engaging youth in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) pathways.

The grant will allow the Institute to create the Dream It. Do It. STEM Toolkit highlighting best practices to engage students in STEM pathways and manufacturing careers. The funds will also be used to replicate a number of best practices in selected Dream It. Do It. locations.

Dream It. Do It. works to change the perception of the industry and inspire next-generation workers to pursue manufacturing careers. The initiative offers local manufacturers, schools, community-based organizations and other stakeholders the opportunity to partner with a respected national platform to promote manufacturing as a top tier career choice in the United States. In 2014, the network successfully engaged 365,000 students and 70,000 parents and educators.
