Washington, DC, -  Today, The Manufacturing Institute will honor 130 women at the 3rd Women in Manufacturing STEP Ahead Awards at the Hyatt Regency in Washington, D.C.

Before the awards, the Honorees will participate in congressional meetings and personal development sessions throughout the day. The Honorees will hear from  Erin Sparks, Senior Advisor for Manufacturing Policy for the U.S. Department of Commerce, J.J. Raynor, Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, and Marisa Rivera, President of MPowerment Works, LLC. The keynote speaker for the  dinner is Ann Compton, Legendary ABC News' White House Correspondent.

The Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Ahead Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent all levels of the manufacturing industry, from the factory-floor to the C suite. The STEP Ahead Awards program will highlight each Honoree’s story, including their leadership and accomplishments in manufacturing. This year, the Institute has chosen to recognize a select few in a new Emerging Leaders category. This category comprises of young women in manufacturing at the beginning of their careers who have already made integral accomplishments within their company and the industry.
