WASHINGTON, DC, -  The Manufacturing Institute’s past STEP Award Honoree Michelle Kumbier, senior vice president for motorcycle operations at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, was featured in the New York Times discussing the ins and outs of her routine workday. Kumbier describes the ceramic pink boot award she received in 2014 as a source of inspiration in her daily work life. “It’s a celebration of me as a woman and my role in the science, technology, engineering and production, or STEP, world,” Kumbier said. “To me, the award means I have a responsibility to pay it forward and inspire other women in this industry.” Read Kumbier’s story here.

This year, the STEP Ahead Awards will take place on March 26, 2015 on Capitol Hill. The Institute will honor 100 women and 30 Emerging Leaders for their achievements in the manufacturing industry.
