-  The Manufacturing Institute Communications Director AJ Jorgenson is traveling to North Carolina to participate in two events in celebration of National Manufacturing Day, October 3.

On October 2, Jorgenson will be participating in a manufacturing panel at The Forge Greensboro’s Markerspace Event in Greensboro, N.C. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Jorgenson will be joined by Mayor Nancy Vaughan, Bruce Voncannon, former Chief Executive Officer of Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild, Kip Blakely of TIMCO Aviation, Marshall Brain, Founder of “How Stuff Works,” Jeff Chapin of Williams Industrial Services Group, LLC and Global Power Equipment Group, and Laura Hamlet of Lorillard, will discuss Manufacturing Day to discuss how to overcoming the skills gap, and the silos that inhibit U.S. manufacturing.

On October 3, Jorgenson will be the keynote speaker at the Union County Chamber of Commerce Manufacturing Celebration Breakfast discussing methods to build the manufacturing talent pipeline. The breakfast will take place in Monroe, N.C as part of “Make It in Union County” Manufacturing Week.

National Manufacturing Day brings awareness to the manufacturing industry to showcase its importance to the United States’ economic prosperity. Manufacturing Day empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
