-  The Manufacturing Institute Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Gardner Carrick will be in Huntington, West Virginia on National Manufacturing Day, October 3, for the West Virginia Makes Festival hosted by Robert C. Byrd Institute.

This Manufacturing Day event celebrates creativity and innovation with participants creating new inventions and competing against each other for prizes. Five prizes will be given out to the most creative inventions showcased at the festival that will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is sponsored by the RCBI for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing, Advantage Valley, the City of Huntington and Marshall University.

National Manufacturing Day brings awareness to the manufacturing industry to showcase its importance to the United States’ economic prosperity. Manufacturing Day empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
