WASHINGTON, DC, -  The Manufacturing Institute is excited to welcome Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) to the Education Council through its president, Cynthia Bioteau. The Institute’s Education Council is composed of educators and officials representing K-12, community and technical colleges, and colleges and universities.

Members of The Education Council are leaders in education, with the expertise to assist in developing national strategies to expand and enhance our manufacturing workforce. Members provide substantial input to the policies and solutions being designed and implemented by The Manufacturing Institute, have opportunities to partner in major initiatives focused on education and workforce development reform, and network with the manufacturers driving innovation and productivity.  Dr. Bioteau is a founding member of the Education Council from her time at Salt Lake Community College, and now brings FSCJ into the council.

Florida State College at Jacksonville offers students the opportunity to pursue a manufacturing career through a variety of manufacturing programs and certifications, including the Advanced Manufacturing Automation Technical Certificate, Biotechnology Specialist and more. In addition, the institution recently held a manufacturing symposium for Nassau County manufacturers in support of students engaging in the manufacturing industry.
