-  Manufacturing Institute President Jennifer McNelly was named Chair of the Global Agenda Council on the Future of Manufacturing. The Network of Global Agenda Councils is a distinct community of more than 1,500 leaders who are experts in their respective fields.

The Council is working to create a common framework describing manufacturing capabilities that will support public-private alignment. To identify and address the fundamental drivers behind the future development of advanced manufacturing, more relevant metrics must be established and more public and private stakeholders aligned at the global level. McNelly announced that the Council has been working on two initiatives to achieve this: Global Value Chain Mapping and Global Manufacturing Forum.

The Forum has created two reports that will be helpful in the Council’s future efforts and goals – the Future of Manufacturing Report: Opportunities to drive economic growth and Enabling Sustainable Global Manufacturing.
