Washington, DC, -  In the July issue of Member Focus, a leading manufacturing policy newsletter, the Manufacturing Institute’s Board of Trustees Chairman Blake Moret stressed the importance of overcoming the lingering workforce issues that the manufacturing industry faces, as the industry contributes more than $2 trillion every year to the U.S. economy.

The Institute helps the United States maintain its competitive workforce in three primary ways: attraction, qualification and development.  In his role as chair, Moret works to collaborate with NAM members to improve the clarity, credibility and sustainability of the Institute’s initiatives.  Through these initiatives, together they will continue to sharpen the Institute’s focus, take greater advantage of the Institute’s connection to the NAM, and focus on activities that impact the maximum number of students and manufacturers.

The importance of having a skilled manufacturing workforce has taken center stage as the nation recognizes just how much a strong manufacturing sector is needed.  The strength of the manufacturing economy is vital to the overall U.S. economy.
