Pine City, MN, -  Several 2014 STEP Award Honorees participated in and supported the Women in Technology: Girls’ Career Day at Pine Technical College (PTC) March 11 - 13.  PTC’s annual Women in Technology event is designed to encourage and inspire girls to pursue an interest in STEM fields.

Now in its 14th year, professionals from The Bakken Museum, EJ Ajax Metalforming Solutions, Steinwall Inc Manufacturer, FirstLight Health System, University of Minnesota Extension, Aveda, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Essentia Health, East Central Energy and more to demonstrate the variety of high tech careers available to those to enjoy STEM fields. Young women from across the state attended the event.

Young women in attendance discovered educational and career options available to them. In addition to presentations from industry leaders Industry tours were offered at local companies to show the opportunities careers in STEM fields offer to women.

Wyoming Machine sponsored pink boot pins, symbolic of the STEP Ahead initiative, for the young women attending the event.
