-  Mequon based GenMet will open its doors on October 4th to local students to promote manufacturing. The Manufacturing Institute’s communications director AJ Jorgenson will be in attendance GenMet is a 70 employee metal fabrication company that uses lasers, press brakes and welding to make OEM parts and Point of Purchase display parts for our customers in the Milwaukee area and beyond. GenMet CEO Eric Isbister is a trustee of The Manufacturing Institute.

More than 350 Wisconsin high school students will participate in GenMet’s Manufacturing Day event, working side by side with seasoned manufacturing professionals for the morning. Each group will be instructed in metal fabrication in the training room, tour the shop floor, and participate in interactive activities. Everything from estimating, engineering through production, to shipping will be covered.
