-  With Manufacturing Day 2012 quickly approaching, states across the country are planing festivities to celebrate the inaugural event. In Connecticut, the state's Dream It. Do It. program has taken the celebration a step further. Dream It. Do It. Connecticut in collaboration with Dannel Malloy, governor of Connecticut, have proclaimed October 2012 as "Connecticut. Dream It. Do It." Manufacturing Month.

The official proclamation from the governor's office stated that 'the 200-year history of manufacturing in Connecticut has enabled businesses to establish strong roots in our state'. It also states that '"Connecticut. Dream It. Do It." initiative builds on the collaboration of the state's industry associations, companies, education institutions, and workforce and economic developement organizations to promote manufacturing careers, and allign education and training to develop skilled, credentialed, manufacturing workers'.

The Manufacturing Institute is a co-producer of Manufacturing Day 2012.
