Washington, DC, -  NAM and the Manufacturing Institute conducted a briefing on Capitol Hill focused on the skills gap in manufacturing and the AMERICA Works Act that would prioritize federal job training funds towards industry-based certifications.  NAM Director of Human Resources Policy Christine Scullion moderated a panel that included Institute Vice President Gardner Carrick, Deloitte Human Capital Principal David Rizzo, and Ingersoll Rand Vice President for Government Affairs David Modi. 

The principal sponsors of the AMERICA Works Act, Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) and Representative Joe Donnelly (D-IN), provided remarks and over 65 House and Senate staffers, company officials, and association representative attended the event.
