Washington, DC, -  The Manufacturing Institute is prominently featured in the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership report from the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology released by the White House today.  The results of the Public Perception and Skills Gap reports are highlighted in the workforce section and the Institute's Skills Certification System and Right Skills Now progam are identified as key solutions to manufacturing's workforce challenges.

Also discussed in the report is the need for a greater focus on applied reserach and bridging the gap between university R&D and commericalization.  The Manufacturing Institute and EWI have been working for over a year on a proposal to address this gap and the President's proposed National Network for Manufacturing Innovation incorporates many similar ideas.
