-  The Manufacturing Institute is very excited to announce that Institute President Jennifer McNelly has been honored in the Inaugural 100 Women Leaders in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). The honor, which is being presented by STEMconnector, is recognizing women who are ‘active role models for the underrepresented segment of women’ in STEM professions. A celebration will be held for the recipients this October in Washington DC.

McNelly took over as President of the Manufacturing Institute on April 1, 2012. Since taking the position, she has focused on improving and expanding manufacturing in the United States through education, innovation, and research.  She has demonstrated her leadership by architecting the Institute’s flagship initiative, the NAM-Endorsed Manufacturing Skills Certification System.

Other recipients of the honor includes: General Electric President, Charlene Begley; BAE Systems President, Linda Hudson and US Senator Maria Cantwell.  The Manufacturing Institute congratulates Jennifer McNelly and the other Women Leaders on their achievement.
