Omaha, NE, -  The Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities held its Commission on Innovation, Competitiveness, and Economic Prosperity meeting today and Institute Vice President Gardner Carrick participated in a panel discussion on manufacturing with officials from the U.S. Department of Energy and the Council on Competitiveness. 

APLU is interested in ensuring the continued role of universities in the expasion of U.S. manufacturing through coordinated R&D activities, education of the workforce at levels, and regional economic development.
