Cindy Jurgens
Manager, Continuous Improvement
The Toro Company

"An endless supply of opportunities to improve is why I enjoy manufacturing. Eliminating non-value adding steps and improving the flow of both information and material is challenging and rewarding. Taking a complicated process and improving it to be smooth and simple is a daily opportunity I never tire of doing."

Cindy has been with Exmark and The Toro Company for 30 plus years, filling many different roles. Most recently, she has supported and led the Beatrice plant through a major Lean transformation. The transition took training, coordination, the ability to engage employees and earn their respect, and exceptional communication.  Without Cindy’s devotion and patience, Beatrice operations would not be in the position it is today. Cindy also travels to other manufacturing locations within Toro to participate in continuous improvement projects.  During the past 24 months, she has led or participated in more than 40 week-long events. Her leadership and knowledge of Lean have enabled the Beatrice manufacturing facility to provide high quality products at a lower cost to its customers.
Cindy spends time each week mentoring others. She has worked with planners, materials coordinators, and master scheduler to explain and demonstrate many of the SAP fields.  She is the most knowledgeable employee for SAP usage and is instrumental in designing and delivering training as needed.
Cindy is active in Beatrice and the surrounding communities and spends her off time doing many community, school and church activities. She volunteers with her church youth group, has been active in 4H and with the Gage County Fair Board, delivers Meals on Wheels, organizes and assists with the Adopt a Highway clean up, and participates in Toro Giving projects. She is on the leadership committee for the Exmark and Toro Beatrice annual United Way Campaign, and is an important liaison with the factory for all the United Way activities that take place in September and October.
