Mary Jo "MJ" Jerome
General Manager
Stroud Safety

"I am passionate about manufacturing because the changes that are created on the production floor to increase efficiency affects employees, customers, and bottom line. I think it's necessary in today's competitive market. Manufacturing can be fresh and exciting to me."

Mary Jo (MJ) is an integral part of the management team who has brought Stroud Safety into the 21st century. To facilitate change, MJ established relationships with key dealers, revamped the dealer agreement, and developed an educational program for them. With clear expectations and a push toward dealer accountability, MJ has been instrumental in a near doubling of sales since implementing the changes. She’s taken similar steps to improve efficiencies and accuracy internally, all of which have had a positive impact on Stroud Safety's revenues.
MJ's development of new job descriptions within the company has attracted new employees, as well as developed existing individuals. She has implemented new training across the board, emphasizing concepts of 5S, QC, Relationship Building Concepts, and Lean Manufacturing. She’s developed a strong cohesive team based on inclusion and collaboration, and she encourages each employee to continue their education to improve not only professionally, but personally too.
Widely known in the racing community, MJ has created a track safety package tailored to track owners and operators. Partnering with racers who promote sound safety habits and have high track visibility, she has created a strong bond with owners and racers all over the world. She shares her talents in other ways too. MJ's summer internship program has assisted a least one family annually for the past three years. Her Toys for Tots program helps provide gifts for underprivileged children during the holidays. In addition, she adopts a nursing home through the holidays and hand delivers signed Christmas cards.
