Kimberly Howard
VP, Managing Director, Glass Reinforcements, America
Owens Corning

"I love solving problems, learning how things work, and continuous improvement. In the operations environment, I enjoyed enrolling and engaging employees at the plant to solve problems and improve performance. As a General Manager, I utilize this same skillset to enroll and engage customers in solving problems."

Kim is instrumental in leading a business of approximately $750M in annual revenue and more than 2,500 employees spanning four countries. She started her career with Owens Corning more than 20 years ago, and has grown from an entry-level analyst to one of the company’s top leaders, making a transformative impact on the business by taking ever-increasing responsibility, being decisive, challenging herself and others to do better, and encouraging inclusiveness and teamwork. Commitment, flexibility, and versatility position her as a resource for many.
Kim demonstrates to women every day that it is possible to have it all – a successful career, a family, and a strong presence in the community. A willing mentor, she currently coaches 10 women, both internal and external to Owens Corning. A mother of four daughters, she is passionate about paving the way for women to excel.  She actively participates in the Women’s Information Network and Women’s Initiative of United Way. Last year, she joined a panel of local female executive leaders to share advice and insight, drawn from her personal experience.
Beyond her formal career and volunteer leadership roles, Kim is a sponsor for children in other countries through Compassion International, donates to the Red Cross, and mentors women in the community. She selflessly shares her talents with both the corporation and community in a wide range of ways including participating on local community boards, serving on professional groups, and even opening her own home to help others.
