Lynn Hancock
Director, Advanced Manufacturing & EPMO
USG Corporation

"I am fascinated with how things are made, and fortunately I grew up with it because my dad’s career was in manufacturing. As I have journeyed through my career, the consistent theme through all of my positions has been continuous improvement, and manufacturing provides numerous opportunities to exercise this skill."

Over the span of her career, Lynn has provided her insight on enterprise management and processes to impact a wide variety of functions throughout the organization. Lynn led the creation and integration of an Enterprise Project Management Organization function at USG.  In all her projects at USG, Lynn has been instrumental in breaking down silos and in setting up successful models for business leaders across the organization to follow suit.
She is committed to developing the next generation to become leaders in the new era of manufacturing. Lynn is currently coaching 10 engineers who have fewer than three years of experience in the company. She challenges them to learn from each other and think critically about how USG can utilize technologies across the manufacturing facilities. Lynn continuously looks for opportunities for her mentees to develop their skills, enhance performance, and grow their careers.
In addition, Lynn shares her knowledge and experience with program and project management professionals working across industries. She is a well-known speaker in her field, presenting most recently at the Chicago Quality Assurance Association, Oracle’s User Group Conference, and the Industrial Research Institute.
Lynn is invested in giving back to her local community as well. She is an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in River Forest, the Roosevelt School PTO, and a participant with the Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. Through her efforts to share knowledge and build communities within and outside the company, Lynn embodies USG’s spirit of citizenship and truly lives out this core value every day.
