Connie Bradley
Refining General Manager, Texas Refining Division
Marathon Petroleum Company, LP

"Manufacturing is technically challenging, requiring the expertise of a variety of disciplines. This complexity makes teamwork and communication as essential as good engineering skills. As a plant manager, one of my most rewarding responsibilities is to develop managers as they grow from good engineers to great leaders with balanced skill sets."

Connie has demonstrated her leadership and technical skills to the great benefit of the organization over her 26-year career.  She is a grass roots leader, always visible to her employees. Her subject matter expertise is immense—as is her commitment to operating safely and responsibly. Connie has led TRD through multiple successes, including achieving VPP Star status, fostering a pervasive culture of diversity and inclusion, championing STEM education initiatives, and supporting Industrial Trade Center initiatives to enhance crafts trades and certification.
Connie is an inspirational example of being genuine and approachable while having high expectations. Despite a hectic schedule and significant responsibilities as the plant manager, Connie takes the time every year to meet with all the refinery interns and coops to share her experiences, give them advice, and answer their questions. She also encourages participation in the formal TRD mentoring program where younger employees or transfers new to the division are paired with more experienced employees.
Connie shares her leadership skills tirelessly within the local community. Her current initiatives include being a Board Member on Texas City Independent School District Foundation for the Future where she supports STEM education and development of craft trades. Perhaps her greatest community impact has been serving as the President of United Way, Galveston County Mainland. She actively encourages participation and giving to United Way not only during the annual TRD pledge campaign, but also through cooking competitions, silent auctions, and a Skeet Shoot. TRD contributions have grown from $100K in 2012 to over $250K in 2015.
