Laura Basara
Vice President

“The manufacturing industry is a rewarding career choice for me especially working with a team of committed, engaged professionals who are also proud that we are 'makers.' I’m passionate about introducing female students to this industry as a non-traditional, yet excellent career path where there is great opportunity for them.”

Laura has been one of the driving forces behind LAMATEK’s growth. She began her career with the company in 1996 in Customer Service, was promoted to Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, and is now the Executive Vice President. She has a vision for LAMATEK and motivates others to share that vision. Laura has built partnerships with both suppliers and customers over the course of two decades and continuously encourages education and training throughout the company.
Laura is motivated by challenge, and works with other team members to push boundaries and grow the company year after year. She is an exceptional communicator who makes the effort to know each employee, and fosters growth and advancement from within the company. The high retention of staff at LAMATEK is reflective of Laura’s leadership efforts, including her influence on an inclusive corporate culture.  She mentors her team and supports their talents, leading by example and nurturing employees to their full potentials.
Laura shares her talent with the community at large including volunteering at several charities and founding a local animal rescue, which is one of her passions.  She recently joined the NJMEP (NJ Manufacturing Extension Program) Advisory Board, and will be attending the upcoming “Hill Day 2017” in D.C. to advocate on behalf of small business manufacturers like LAMATEK. She is a founding member of Women In Manufacturing’s New Jersey chapter, which focuses on attracting more women to the manufacturing industry by offering education, networking, mentoring, and promoting awareness of women’s forward movement in the industry.
