Jennifer Wick
Lead Human Resources Manager
Caterpillar Inc.
Oak Creek, WI

"I’m proud to work for Caterpillar. Caterpillar is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives, and I am fortunate to see first-hand how our products develop infrastructure, energy and natural resource assets. We make sustainable progress possible.”

When Jennifer returned to Caterpillar’s undercarriage components facility in 2009, the facility was facing significant challenges in several areas. The leadership team made the decision that the safety of the employees in the facility was the highest priority, followed by a need to improve the delivery performance of products to both internal and external customers. Through Jennifer’s leadership, her teams were able improve the delivery performance of their product lines to greater than 95 percent, while drastically reducing injuries and creating the culture that would result in the team achieving its first year in history without a recordable injury.
Jennifer’s leadership is demonstrated most clearly in her passion to develop people. Regardless of position, Jennifer has always been willing to invest herself in other people to help them succeed. Her ability to lead is due in part to her ability to develop relationships, manage change and build trust. These characteristics have helped her be successful in some very diverse roles across the corporation.
Jennifer has been a mentor both directly and indirectly for many different people and groups throughout the organization. She relies on her experiences, successes and failures to help her team members solve problems. But more importantly, Jennifer demonstrates great work ethic, problem solving, commitment and passion for every member of her team and the teams with which she worked.
She has shared her talents with the local community as well.  Jennifer participates in a variety of efforts, often dovetailing with her passion as an athlete, especially working with the Peoria IL St. Jude Runs for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and various organizations in the United Way of Greater Milwaukee.
