Leslie has a successful track record in leading diverse teams to deliver standards for customers, contributing to new growth in business for Alcoa. In 2013, Leslie led Alcoa’s Cleveland facility to achieve an ‘A’ level rating in its first Airbus GRAMS assessment, enabling new product growth from Airbus, including its largest selling aircraft, the Airbus 8310. This achievement grew Alcoa’s business with Airbus from $11.5 million a year to a projected $32 million a year in 2018. 
 
Leslie’s engineering background coupled with her unique ability to quickly assess business perspectives has been instrumental in leading teams to success; her teams have the reputation for having the best retention rates on the Cleveland campus. Leslie believes diversity in engineering groups brings out the best in products, and she has a talent for bringing out leadership skills in engineers through coaching. 
 
She also has a passion for coaching and mentoring her team members to be successful and promotable within the organization. Over the last 10 years, Leslie has developed several key technical and quality leaders who have moved from individual contributor roles to leadership roles. 
 
Leslie also brings her mentoring passion to Alcoa Women’s Network, an employee resource group, supporting the training and leadership of women particularly in STEM fields. Leslie is an active supporter of women and girls in the STEM fields, and has been a keynote speaker for several events sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers. Leslie also supports women outside of the STEM field when she works with the YWCA through Alcoa Women’s Network. In 2010, Leslie was awarded the Women of Professional Excellence Award for her contributions.
