Jenna Shaw
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Minneapolis, MN

“Designers dream and engineers make dreams come true! My passion for manufacturing stems from my love of taking an idea and turning it into reality. Whether it be working out intricate product details, creating a manufacturing line to maximize productivity, or evaluating new technologies; we bring dreams to life.”

Jenna has the ability to quickly evaluate a situation and determine the appropriate strategy required to achieve the end goal. This skill has led her to take on many leadership roles across the business. She leads by example and empowers others to take responsibility for their personal role on the team. Jenna has been a part of several noteworthy contributions including the release of product lines across two of Medtronic’s business units – Neuromodulation and Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure.
She has been recognized by her peers and functional management for her leadership skills and was selected to be part of the Medtronic Emerging Leader program early in her career. Through this experience, Jenna had the opportunity to interact with senior leaders from all business units and was selected by her peers as the project lead.
As part of Jenna’s organizational role as a Design for Reliability and Manufacturability Black Belt she has worked across the organization mentoring colleagues and teams on solving high business impact problems utilizing DRM tools. Examples of these include her leadership and facilitation of a seven-day workshop in the generation of concepts, concept selection, and manufacturability analysis and review.
Jenna shares her passion for women in science and technology with the community too.  She is an active presence at her alma mater where she frequently gives talks to various student organizations, including the Society of Women in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Society, and the BME Freshman Seminar Course.  Annually, Jenna recruits for Medtronic at the University of Minnesota Career Fair, where she connects with students on the opportunities that Medtronic has to offer.
