Shelley Ryan Carlson
Director, Global Manufacturing Eng. Technology
Loves Park, IL

“Manufacturing is the heart of our company. We explore, verify and implement manufacturing technologies enabling differentiation. Manufacturing is key to our competitive edge in producing high-quality products, fulfilling customer needs globally. My true passion about manufacturing is people - our key to success.”

Shelley has been with Danfoss for more than 20 years. She has held a variety of progressively responsible positions and has demonstrated passion and drive in each of them. One of her greatest achievements as a leader is that she not only built an exceptional career herself, but has also fostered and sustained the careers of others. Her style is supportive, honest and hands-off; she focuses on making her employees independent but also makes herself available when they need her.
Shelley was stationed at the Danfoss Corporate headquarters in Denmark for two years. She capitalized on what she learned there and applied it upon her return to create one of the strongest global teams at Danfoss. Her time in Denmark made her value open communication.  Together with her team of strong manufacturing engineers, she has started to create a solid foundation for the Global Product Development setup and Global Supply Chain Footprint which will require a global alignment and a holistic mindset.
Shelley has been a consistent mentor throughout her career. She is one of the most approachable leaders at Danfoss; her door is always open - for those that report to her as well as employees from other functional areas. Through her mentoring skills, Shelley has developed many technical and cross-functional teams, and has contributed significantly in creating the future leaders of Danfoss.
Apart from her professional life, Shelley has been greatly involved with the community. From efforts with the YWCA to Rock Valley Community College to participating in her university’s promotional efforts, she has shared her talents widely.
