“It is really exciting for me to see the great ideas and innovations ultimately realize their value through manufacturing. Great manufacturing capability and knowledge is the key for us to make the right design choice and deliver innovative products to our customers.”

Zoe leads a diverse team of scientists and engineers at Johnson Controls. Her team is located in both the United States and Germany, and she has been able to build solidarity across this diverse team by leading by example, listening and providing clear direction. Using these skills, she led the team to create a novel, automated software capability for determining lithium-ion battery compliance to customer requirements, saving over 1,000 hours of engineering effort in one fiscal year, increasing responsiveness to customers, and exceeding expectations.
Zoe is a caring leader who takes the time to actively coach each employee, provide mentorship, and use strong development planning processes. Under her leadership, her team has evolved into a high functioning, diverse group which serves the business with an elevated level of expertise. She leads by example and her strong work ethic sets an example for her entire team.
This past summer, Zoe was assigned three college interns to manage and mentor over the course of their twelve-week internship. Through her planning approach and nurturing style, the interns were successful in their projects and hope to return to Johnson Controls in the future.
Zoe shares her talents with a host of internal and community initiatives.  She is active in a number of resource groups within Johnson Controls, including the Asia Pacific Business Resource Group and the Women’s Resource Network. She also serves on the board of the Milwaukee Chinese Community Center and participates in a range of STEM events.
