Jennifer Hamilton
Improvement Engineer II
Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas, Inc.
Orlando, FL

"I love the way technology is constantly changing and challenging us to improve our current processes. There is always a new challenge to overcome or a barrier to break, so I'm always working on something exciting and new.”

In addition to having exceptional technical skills, Jennifer’s creativity and determination have made her an integral part of the teams she’s worked on in her five years with the company. Coupling those traits with her knowledge of production control and lean manufacturing, she recently developed and streamlined
an HTML database that is used as a main form of communication across multiple departments, from the shop floor to business personnel in the Orlando Repair Center, resulting in significant improvement in communications and an increase in on-time deliveries.

Jennifer demonstrated leadership skills early on, as an intern. She continued to use those skills as she took on the Subject Matter Expert role for training and implementation of a new ERP system that was rolled out company-wide. In her position today, Jennifer facilitated two major improvements in the first two months, and team members relied on her for direction and guidance in order to make the improvement events a success. Her skills continue to develop both in breadth and depth.

Jennifer is also responsible for facilitating and planning Manufacturing Day at the Orlando Service Center. Each year the company conducts tours and makes presentations to approximately 60 local high school STEM students who are interested in manufacturing careers. Her talents ensure that the event is fun and successful.

She shares her talents in the local community, with a focus on being a part of the Habitat for Humanity efforts to rehab a community home.  She also enjoys participating in 5K runs/walks and golf tournaments to raise money for a good cause.
