Veronica Vargas
Global FC & Grooming Manufacturing Director
Procter & Gamble

Cincinnati, OH

“I’m passionate about manufacturing because it is fast paced, fun and intense! The best place to develop leadership skills, grow the capability of others and build an organization’s culture.  This is where your decisions and actions have an immediate impact in the daily results and the only place in the supply chain where you truly add value to the consumer."

Veronica delivered step change improvement in cultural and operational performance levels as the site leader for the Auburn, ME manufacturing plant of P&G.  All measures for service and inventory improved dramatically as a result of Veronica’s passionate leadership. Her strategies to improve operational excellence, including an exceptional approach to training, became a model for other locations world-wide.  Through Veronica’s leadership, the Auburn plant transitioned from a traditional organization to a role model for team-based, high performance work systems, where each employee feels empowered to make a difference in the business.

She is a prominent leader of the LA Diversity team and plays a fundamental  role in helping, coaching and supporting the LA community in the company to unleash their power. Her work with the company Sustainability Program has lead to the achievement of landfill-free sites. The company now has 80% of sites landfill-free, and will achieve 100% by June 2014.  While Veronica was the plant manager of the Auburn plant, she was instrumental in developing a program called WIN (Workplace Inclusion), which created meaningful employment opportunities for people with physical or developmental disabilities within P&G’s total supply chain. This program was so successful that it has delivered substantial Business and Organizational results and it is also a potential model for future expansion for other sites.
