Jane Arnold
Senior Production Manager
Bayer MaterialScience
Baytown, TX

“International recognition among my peers for process improvements and innovative solutions within my company of 14,500 professionals makes me very proud--along with a pending patent to be granted by year end. My proudest achievement, however, is successfully balancing priorities as a dedicated mom and respected leader in manufacturing.”

Jane Arnold has successfully worked her way up the technical and management career ladder at Bayer MaterialScience, winning accolades for her strong technical contributions while building a strong network of professional allies.   She uses her expertise to enhance the safety, reliability, and efficiency of manufacturing in a variety of successful projects that she has tackled.  Jane has worked cross functionally to apply her in-depth analysis and advanced statistical methods for problem solving and paired those skills with her unique ability to inspire excellence in others.

Jane took a non-traditional path to manufacturing management, earning acceptance and respect among her predominantly engineer peers by adroitly applying her degree in mathematics to solve complex operational and engineering challenges.  She completed her formal education while working full-time as a single mother.

Now that her own son is attending college, Jane continues to share her time, talent and love at work and in the community.   She serves as a mentor for 3-5 new employees at work, mentors economically disadvantaged children in the community and has also served as a foster parent.  Jane is an ambassador for Bayer, participating in annual heart health awareness events for women, local Chamber of Commerce fundraisers, and citywide clean-up days. To effect a culture change for needed improvements within her work environment, Jane inspired and engaged employees across the site to leverage their ideas and suggestions for sustainable solutions.
