Anna Wald
Quality Manager
Wyoming Machine, Inc.
Stacy, MN

“America has the largest manufacturing economy in the world, and the jobs it provides our citizens are substantial. From designers, machine operators, welders, packagers and shippers, to management, sales and marketing, the list goes on. Manufacturing offers economic opportunities to hard-working middle-class Americans including my own family, friends and neighbors.”

As Quality Manager for Wyoming Machine (WMI), a women owned metal fabricator in Stacy, Minnesota, Anna accepts and transforms challenges into successes.  She has increased profits, reduced waste and defects and improved turn-around time.  As a member of WMI's strategic planning team, she oversees strategic initiatives to improve company processes, supporting customer needs while increasing revenue and profitability.

In 2011, Anna increased on-time delivery by eliminating backlog, achieving 24-hour product turnaround in final inspection.  Anna also led a team addressing cost reduction on a specific project, successfully turning negative profitability to nearly 20 percent profitability.  As Quality Manager, Anna is responsible for WMI's ISO 9001:2008 quality management system.

Anna motivates women into future STEP careers.  Pine Technical College recruited Anna to give presentations to sixth grade students encouraging careers in manufacturing.
