Claire Jones Barboni
Continuous Improvement Engineer
HOERBIGER Corp. of America, Inc.
Pompano Beach, FL

“Manufacturing is an exciting industry to be in because there are always improvements to be made to have a better impact for the company, the people working there, and the surrounding environment. Every day is totally different from the one before.”

Claire’s role as Continuous Improvement Engineer is to identify improvement opportunities, then design and implement solutions in a timely and cost effective manner.  One example of her many successes is the improvement of the lapping processes in the polymer machining area.  Leading a comprehensive project, she analyzed the interdependencies of numerous input parameters and their effects on the finished product’s critical dimensions and characteristics. She developed and defined a new process, personally trained the Machine Operators and oversaw the implementation.  This new process led to a 20% productivity improvement in the cell.  Claire was invited to present her findings at the annual HOERBIGER Global Production Conference held in the Czech Republic.  She continues to seek out and apply her continuous improvement analytical skillset to other areas resulting in improvements in productivity and reduction in required overtime.
Claire is a member of the Board of Directors of the South Florida chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and served as Secretary.
