Mary Isbister
GenMet Corp.
Mequon, WI

“I’m extremely proud to have built, in partnership with my husband, a small company that supports 75 families; allowing them to buy cars and homes, educate their children, and have a secure retirement.  This company is an important and well-respected contributor to our community, schools, and service organizations.”

As President of GenMet, Mary leads all aspects of internal operations while being a strong advocate for manufacturing. Under her leadership, the National Fabricators and Manufacturers Association awarded GenMet -- a woman-owned small business, fabricating a wide variety of parts for military vehicles, wind turbines, and Point of Purchase displays -- the Fabricator of The Year Industry Award in 2010.

Mary was appointed to the US Manufacturing Council in 2010, reporting to the Secretary of Commerce. She is the Chair of the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Chairs the Milwaukee 7 Next Generation Manufacturing Council, serves as President of WUWM Community Advisory Board and is a Director of MMAC's Council of Small Business Executives.

Mary is devoted to improving K-12 education. She has taught Junior Achievement classes for many years and takes every opportunity to help students realize their potential and work toward excellent careers.
