Anne Herman
Director, Global Quality
Mine Safety Appliances Company
Cranberry Twp., PA

“I would encourage anyone considering a career in manufacturing to take advantage of opportunities to learn the different facets of the business.  Having experience in diverse areas (such as process engineering, production and quality) will build a strong knowledge foundation that fosters a broader business view and strategic decision making.”

Anne is a twenty-eight year veteran at MSA with broad experience in Design Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering and Management and most recently Production and Project Management.  Her technical background and knowledge, combined with her outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills have made her an important contributor to MSA’s overall success.

Anne successfully led a major consolidation project including relocation of corporate headquarters, a manufacturing footprint reduction of over 30%, and major renovations at the Cranberry facility to convert it into a state-of-the-art, world class corporate headquarter campus.  The project resulted in savings of over $5M annually.  Anne has become MSA’s “go-to” resource to manage critical initiatives to timely and expected results. She does it with a leadership style that brings out the best of her team.
