Lorrie Acord
Technical Services Manager
Pelco Products Inc.
Edmond, OK

“Manufacturing encompasses many different types of jobs, i.e., sales, engineering, accounting, machining, assembly, shipping.  Various levels of education are required for these jobs. Investigate your passion and then pursue it. You will spend more waking hours at work than you do at home, so enjoy what you are doing.”

Lorrie is responsible for managing all engineering drawing specifications, maintenance and releases, including Autodesk software, AutoCAD and Inventor.

Lorrie developed the CAD department and has managed it for 23 years, implementing the 3D Inventor and data management software.

Lorrie is always looking to improve documentation processes and release procedures.  Lorrie successfully implemented the Autodesk Inventor software, which Pelco now uses for all designs and construction drawings.  Lorrie was also instrumental in procuring an in-house 3D printer for developing prototypes, short run castings, and customer samples.  Pelco has become the industry leader in customer service because of the ability to provide custom solutions to customers by using the 3D printer.

Lorrie has excelled in this predominately male profession by handling herself in a professional manner and she is not afraid to speak up and challenge the status quo.
