Jennie Tinney
Materials Manager - ICM
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company

“My passion for manufacturing stems from the values that my parents instilled in me. If you set your mind to do something and work hard, you can accomplish anything. Many groundbreaking technologies have been discovered by great manufacturers. I am proud to work for one of the best - Goodyear!”

As Materials Manager for Goodyear’s Innovation Center Manufacturing Plant, Jennie manages and plans the movement of material throughout the facility. This includes raw material planning, receiving, planning control, purchasing and finished goods distribution. Jennie is a critical part of the Plant Leadership Team and has been instrumental in driving cultural change and engagement at the shop floor. In 2017, she was responsible for a 331 percent improvement in inventory accuracy, delivering $1.2 million in annual savings and a 25 percent reduction in waste.

Since she joined Goodyear in 2009, Jennie has delivered exceptional results and facilitated assignments of progressing responsibility. In the last two years, Jennie’s efforts improved the effectiveness of the production planning processes while significantly reducing waste. Never afraid to tackle difficult problems, Jennie’s leadership and personal drive sets her apart as a game changer at Goodyear.

Jennie has represented Goodyear at multiple conferences and has proven to be a strong advocate not only for the company, but the industry itself. She brings a balanced perspective to her mentoring relationships where she challenges young associates to set high expectations for themselves. Her breath of experience in corporate and manufacturing settings makes her the ideal candidate to coach and mentor these professionals as they transition through their developmental assignments.

Jennie is a wife and the mother of two children. She works hard to balance family and work responsibilities, while also acting as a leader in her church. Jennie is an ambassador for United Way in the Innovation Center Manufacturing Plant and uses her influence to build support for annual fundraising activities. She volunteers for the Akron Food Bank and leads several critical activities that provide aid around the holidays.
