Cheryl Hodge
Manager-Wiring Devices Demand Planning

“I have a natural inclination to create and build something that is useful and meaningful. My tools are databases and spreadsheets; my raw materials sales data and marketing intel. Building and delivering the best product (forecast) to my team is very satisfying, rewarding and challenging.”

Serving as the Wiring Devices Demand Manager, Cheryl Hodge is a leader within Eaton’s Residential and Wiring Devices supply chain and marketing organization. She has lead the transformation of Eaton’s forecasting methodology from a month-to-month reactionary process to a forward-looking 12-18 month rolling forecast. Over the past five years, her efforts have resulted in a 25-point improvement to forecast error, which has directly contributed to inventory reduction of 40 percent while maintaining service levels above 90 percent.

Thanks to her understanding of demand forecasting and passion for understanding market forces, Cheryl is able to shape demand conversations across all functions of the business. Her work extends into Eaton’s global locations in Canada and Mexico where she helps teams increase forecast accuracy. One key relationship of Cheryl’s is with the Mexico sales operations team. She has helped mentor key talent within that group to instill best practices and raise service levels. That relationship has helped improve forecast accuracy for Mexico domestic over 11 percent. Cheryl was also featured in DS (Demand Solutions) Magazine representing Eaton and helping other companies to see how using sales and marketing activities to forecast can help understand how to position for more successful growth.

Cheryl is very involved within the local community, her church and regional/national charities. She has championed a site outreach effort in partnership with Herobox, a charity that connects military units that need support while deployed with willing and able volunteers who donate time and supplies. Through her efforts, an Eaton team of more than 30 individuals were mobilized to collect and supply Navy and Marine troops aboard the USS Oak Hill with health and wellness supplies, as well as personal messages from the team. Cheryl is also involved with the local Rotary Club in support of fund raising for elementary schools.
