Lynn Graykowski
Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Welbilt

“The manufacturing environment is everchanging and evolving. It is so challenging and exciting! Each and every day is unique. My internal drive for improvement is the reason I am so passionate about manufacturing.”

An expert in managing complex projects and working within many different cultures, Lynn led the resurgence of the Welbilt Safety Management System (SMS) for the facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Lynn managed the entire process, personally scheduling and attending meetings with 21 element champions so she could coach them to success. Under her leadership, the plant achieved a 50 percent reduction in OSHA recordable injuries and a 73 percent improvement from the previous year. Thanks to her strong commitment to deadlines and individual goals, Lynn is an example for all others in the Welbilt family.

Lynn approaches all of her activities with passion and a desire to build effective teams through coaching and mentoring. Whether working as a peer or supervisor, she encourages everyone she works with to continuously improve their skills and drive the team’s success. After educating and coaching all element champions on processes and procedures, Lynn took the extra step to coach employees toward creating a culture of safety where coworkers looked after each other. At Welbilt’s manufacturing site in Monterrey, Mexico, Lynn personally supported and mentored many of the manufacturing engineering personnel in NPI projects. Working together to overcome barriers in language and culture, Lynn taught the team new manufacturing processes and prepared them to successfully transition an important new product into production.

Lynn actively leads and supports company-sponsored activities focused on building a culture of safety. As leader of the SMS, Lynn along with her team, successfully implemented a daily posture strengthening program for employees. She also supports the Salvation Army toy drive, Peter’s Pantry food drive and Hurricane Harvey relief. In the office and the community, Lynn leads by example.
