“My passion for manufacturing is connected to creating value and social change for all the stakeholders involved. I aim to contribute to the construction of a better future by developing innovative solutions and sustainable products and services for the construction industry, that improve the quality of life and well-being of society.”

Martha is a pioneer in social responsibility, as evidenced through her 22-year career with CEMEX. In addition to developing a comprehensive global social responsibility strategy for CEMEX, she led the development of innovative models which have expanded the company’s construction portfolio. These models promote employment opportunities, financial inclusions, access to basic services and adequate housing through savings and credit schemes, training and technical assistance. Through these initiatives, more than 285 million dollars of loans have been granted. Likewise, her design and successful implementation of social programs and inclusive businesses have impacted more than 12.6 million people. For her United Nations Sustainable Development Goals efforts, Martha was recognized with a Leading Women Award by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Responsible for more than 50 countries in her role as Director for Social Responsibility, Martha fosters the sustainable growth of CEMEX worldwide.

During her leadership in Mexico operations, Martha accomplished the development of a solid organizational structure which grew to over 50 experienced professionals nationwide in Mexico. She also attends over 100 forums throughout the year to share her experience while encouraging and empowering women and youth.

Martha demonstrates a clear purpose of serving others and contributing to build a more active, fair, respectful and prosperous society. Social responsibility initiatives implemented under Martha’s leadership have improved social welfare in more than 500 communities under multi-sectorial alliances that involve governments, civil society organizations, universities and more. Her passion and commitment to serve others can also be seen through her many community awards and service to more than 20 non-governmental organizations and institutions that foster entrepreneurship, grassroots development, youth employment and social innovation.
