Teresa Bazan
Silicon Photonics Product Line Manager

“I am passionate about manufacturing because it has allowed me to contribute to delivering solutions that touch people around the world. Bringing a product from concept to production requires problem solving and innovation. Every day provides new challenges and opportunities to collaborate with clients, development partners, and diverse colleagues.”

When GLOBALFOUNDRIES made the strategic decision to invest in a new Silicon Photonics business line, Teresa was drafted to become the Product Line Manager. Tasked with managing the new product offering and its corresponding challenges, Teresa’s leadership and negotiation skills were key to the product’s successful approval for further investment. With the program now in execution mode, Teresa manages program resources, driving IP integration, product development schedules and manufacturing tooling installations. Previously, Teresa led the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) Life Cycle Management team. In that role, she successfully drove cost improvement activities, yield improvements and test time reductions, requiring significant coordination and influence across numerous organizations. Her leadership was instrumental in the ASIC product line’s success.

A highly involved mentor for early-tenure professional women, Teresa has helped many identify opportunities to build skills and navigate a complex organization for future career growth. Under IBM, she was actively involved in the Diversity Council’s Hispanic/Latino group where she helped coordinate social activities and engage colleagues of similar backgrounds in career and networking discussions. She previously served as a volunteer at the annual EXCITE camp run by IBM, focusing on captivating sixth grade girls into developing an interest in STEM professions.

Teresa is an active member of the Burlington community. Since 2013, she has been a volunteer Board Member for Cocktails Curing Cancer, a non-profit organization focused on raising funds to cure breast cancer. As a member of the board of directors, Teresa is involved in organizing and executing the organization’s annual Happy Hour event with proceeds going towards the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. Also a mother of four young children, Teresa is a regular sight at many school and extracurricular activities including music programs, a local youth dance company, soccer club and her church's faith formation program.
